We specialise in producing high-quality BBQ products for domestic and international markets and are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Fitter to join our maintenance team.

Role

This is a full-time position based in Morwell, reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor. You will ensure the reliable operation of our manufacturing facility through mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of equipment such as augers, conveyors, bucket elevators, bag houses, and palletizing equipment. Your role will focus on maintaining and optimising mechanical systems to support operational efficiency, while using maintenance tracking software for preventative maintenance, work order management, inventory tracking, and reporting on equipment health to support maintenance team planning.

Your accountabilities will include but are not limited to:

Perform mechanical maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics to maintain operational efficiency.

Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical faults using sound diagnostic processes.

Contribute to and action routine and preventative maintenance programs for mechanical systems using maintenance tracking software.

Maintain and repair equipment, including augers, conveyors, bucket elevators, bag houses, and palletizing equipment.

Use maintenance tracking software to manage work orders, track inventory, and report on equipment health for maintenance planning.

Work effectively within a team and autonomously to achieve operational goals.

Uphold the highest Work Health, Safety, and Environment standards in all activities.

The successful candidate will have:

Mechanical Fitter trade qualification (essential).

4+ years of experience in manufacturing or related industries as a Mechanical Fitter.

Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, sensors, and packing machines.

Experience using maintenance tracking software for preventative maintenance, work order management, inventory tracking, and equipment health reporting.

Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve faults in mechanical systems.

Current driver’s license and reliable transportation (essential).

Welding experience, particularly TIG welding, is highly desirable.

Additional certifications or experience such as HR License, LF Forklift License, Elevated Work Platform (EWP) License, Confined Space certification, Front End Loader, or Excavator operation are highly desirable.
