We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Finance and Payroll Officer to join our team on a full-time basis.This role plays a key role in supporting the Finance Manager with the day-to-day operations of the finance function. This position ensures timely and accurate delivery of monthly financial reporting by managing tasks including bank reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, month-end processes, and payroll processing. Additionally, the role is responsible for end-to-end payroll processing for both GH Properties and Links Golf & Wellbeing. Potential to progress into a senior finance role or specialise in payroll.
Key Tasks/Duties:
Bank Reconciliation
· Perform regular bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
· Identify and follow up on unallocated or unknown transactions.
· Reconcile balance sheet accounts for accuracy and completeness.
Accounts Payable
· Process and code incoming supplier invoices.
· Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
· Maintain supplier records and ensure ABN, GST, and bank details are verified.
· Issue remittance advice following payment processing.
Accounts Receviable
· Prepare and issue accurate customer invoices.
· Monitor and follow up overdue accounts.
· Maintain accurate accounts receivable ledgers.
Month End
· Reconcile general ledger accounts for all entities.
· Ensure accounting records are complete and accurate.
· Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS).
Payroll Processing
· Set up employees in Employment Hero (HR/Payroll platform).
· Assisting with Employee Contract setup in EH.
· Review Links timesheets and prepare payroll checklist for Paydco.
· Collaborate with Paydco for fortnightly payroll processing.
· Prepare and post fortnightly and monthly payroll journals.
· Calculate and accrue payroll liabilities monthly.
· Prepare and lodge quarterly superannuation reports via Employment Hero.
· Prepare and submit monthly payroll tax and annual TPAR.
· Assist in Single Touch Payroll (STP) compliance and EOFY payroll reconciliations.
Collaboration and Support
· Work collaboratively with the Finance Manager and other departments.
· Assist year-end activities by preparing reconciliations for review by the Finance Manager.
· Provide general financial support across the business.
· Oversee and support office administration to ensure smooth operations.
Financial Record Keeping
· Maintain accurate financial records including bank statements, general ledgers, AP/AR records, and payroll data.
Skills, Experience & Attributes:
· Minimum of 3 years of experience in similar role.
· Experience with multi-entity reporting or environments.
· Competent in payroll processing, including superannuation, payroll tax, leave accruals.
· Familiarity with Employment Hero.
· Strong Microsoft Excel skills (e.g. VLOOKUP, pivot tables, reconciliations).
· Ability to prioritise and manage competing deadlines.
· Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
· High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential information.
· Self-motivated and able to work both independently and under direction.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Eagerness to learn and grow, especially in payroll area.
Qualifications & Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
· Familiarity with Fair Work legislation, NES (National Employment Standards), and Award interpretation for payroll and leave entitlements.
· Proficiency in Mandarin (preferred but not essential)
