We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Aboriginal Liaison Officer- Maternal to join our team in Northam. This full-time (1.0FTE) position, with the option of job share, offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference supporting Aboriginal women and families through pregnancy, birth and early parenting. Join a supportive team committed to improving outcomes for Aboriginal mothers, babies and communities.

About the OPPORTUNITY
In consultation with the Clinical Midwife Specialist- Endorsed Midwife, liaises with healthcare professionals and provides cultural advice, guidance, advocacy and delegated assistance, care and support to Aboriginal families accessing the Avon Valley (Northam) Midwifery Group Practice.
To be successful in this role, you will have…
- Demonstrated links to the local Aboriginal community with the ability to provide support and knowledge to Aboriginal women and families through pregnancy, birth and early parenting
- An ability to communicate both written and verbally and work effectively with health professionals, local Aboriginal communities and community support groups
- An ability to identify the cultural and welfare needs of Aboriginal families throughout their child rearing years and to assist them to access relevant services.
- Computer literacy skills
- Eligible for/ or in possession of a current C or C-A Class drivers licence
