About the Role

This is a senior and critical role where you'll be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining our comprehensive HSE management systems. You'll be a key driver in fostering a strong safety culture within our organisation, directly impacting the well-being of our teams and the success of our projects. Your focus will be on strategic oversight, continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

As our HSE Manager, you will:

Develop & Implement: Design, implement, and continuously improve the company's HSE policies, procedures, and management systems in line with relevant Australian standards and legislation.

Lead & Drive Culture: Champion a proactive and positive safety culture across all levels of the organisation, promoting awareness and accountability.

Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure strict adherence to WHS legislation, codes of practice, and company policies. Conduct regular risk assessments, audits, and inspections to identify hazards and implement effective control measures.

Incident Management: Lead incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Training & Development: Develop and deliver engaging HSE training programs for all employees and contractors.

Reporting & Analysis: Prepare comprehensive HSE reports, analyse data, and identify trends to inform strategic decision making.

Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate closely with project managers, site supervisors, and external stakeholders (e.g., regulators, clients) on all HSE matters.

Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain emergency response plans and ensure their effective implementation.

What We're Looking For

Proven experience (5+ years) in a dedicated HSE Managerial role within the construction industry, preferably with exposure commercial, civil/structural, industrial projects.

Certificate IV qualification in WHS/OHS or a related field.

Thorough knowledge of NT WHS legislation and Australian Standards.

Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and manage effective HSE systems.

Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage at all levels.

Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and incident investigation skills.

Relevant certifications (e.g., Lead Auditor, ICAM, First Aid) are highly regarded.

A valid Australian Driver's License.
