Our Finance team is seeking a full-time Accounts Assistant. Reporting to our Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the Finance team, with responsibilities including but not limited to:

Receipting, allocating & reconciling funds in the Trust bank accounts, along with general administration of the Trust accounts.

Working collaboratively with the Claims department to ensure accurate and timely processing of claims payments.

Contributing to the preparation of monthly bordereaux reports and other management reporting obligations.

Supporting the Accounts Payable function, including expense classification in the general ledger and supplier payments.

Supporting the month-end close process and preparing journals and account reconciliations across the general ledger, underwriting system and claims management system.

Assisting with the reporting, lodgment and payment of statutory charges, including BAS, PAYG, ESL & Stamp duty.

Proactively supporting the Finance team with other ad-hoc tasks as required.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, business partners and potential business partners.

Assisting with general office administration and other duties from time to time.

About the candidate

We are looking for someone with:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or Finance. Desire to progress towards CPA or CAANZ membership (if not already underway) would be viewed favourably.

2+ years in an accounting support role. Experience in financial services or the insurance industry would be highly regarded.

Ability to work to deadlines and manage competing priorities without sacrificing accuracy.

A proactive mindset and a keen interest in streamlining or automating processes.

Willingness to be flexible and adaptable in a fast-growing business.
