About Us

Touch Football Australia (TFA) is the national governing body for Touch Football and operates in strategic partnership with the National Rugby League (NRL). As one of the largest participation sports in the country, we are proud to deliver an experience that is fun, inclusive, and accessible to all.

We are passionate about growing our game and delivering excellence through our values — Rip In, Stick Tight, Take the High Road, and Be Forward Focused. Now, we’re looking for someone to join our WA team to lead referee education and operations with energy, purpose, and community connection.

About the Role

As the Referee Development & Operations Coordinator, you’ll lead the rollout of our new Referee Education and Development Framework across Western Australia.

This role will play a critical part in growing and retaining our referee workforce, ensuring referees at all levels, from grassroots to representative, receive the training, support, and progression opportunities they need.

You will work closely with affiliates, referee directors, and national staff to embed best practices and deliver a high-quality referee experience across the state.

Stakeholder Engagement

Collaborate with affiliate clubs, referee directors, and volunteers

Represent WA in national referee development forums

Program Evaluation

Monitor referee participation, retention, and progression

Provide regular reporting and contribute to continuous improvement

Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills

High-level organisational and self-management skills

Knowledge of officiating principles (Touch Football preferred but not essential)

Ability to deliver training and development programs

Current Working with Children Check and Drivers Licence

Willingness to travel regionally and work outside standard hours when required
