Welder – Full-Time | Metal Fabrication | Wetherill Park
$40.00 - $45.00 per hour + superannuation | Permanent Position | Immediate Start
We are a growing metal fabrication company based in Wetherill Park and currently have a permanent full-time opportunity for an experienced, self-managed, and motivated Welder seeking long-term employment. The position includes a 6-month probation period.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in welding, particularly in complex structural and architectural work. While some fabrication may be involved, the position is primarily welding-focused. You’ll be working with mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium, and must be capable of producing work that meets the high-quality standards required for compliance with AS/NZS ISO 3834 and AS/NZS 5131 (CC2) certification.
Key Requirements
Proven welding experience (MIG essential; TIG experience desirable)
Ability to read and interpret detailed fabrication and structural drawings
High-quality workmanship in line with certification requirements
Strong attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision
Commitment to workplace safety and quality procedures
The Role Offers
Permanent full-time role (Monday to Friday)
$42.00 per hour + superannuation
Regular Overtime available, depending on workload
100% workshop-based
Immediate start

Primary Responsibilities
Welding of structural steel, architectural metalwork, staircases, balustrades, and other assemblies
Reviewing and interpreting technical drawings prior to welding
Ensuring all work meets internal quality and compliance standards
Taking initiative in problem-solving and maintaining safe work practices
To Be Successful, You Should Have
Relevant trade qualifications and hands-on welding experience in both MIG and TIG
Experience following weld procedures and a strong pass rate in UT/MPI weld testing
High attention to detail and a focus on producing consistent, quality work
Flexibility and adaptability within a workshop environment
A valid Australian Driver’s Licence
Day-to-Day Duties Include
Performing MIG and TIG welding to required specifications
Conducting pre- and post-weld checks on assemblies
Following quality systems and welding procedures in compliance with AS/NZS ISO 3834 and AS/NZS 5131 (CC2)
Identifying and resolving welding-related issues
Operating workshop equipment including overhead cranes, grinders, plasma cutters, and hand tools
Maintaining compliance with WH&S regulations and safe work practices
