Lead learning and development across a multi-site organisation of 2,000+. Design and deliver training, onboarding, and compliance programs for clinical/non-clinical teams. Collaborate with leaders to drive continuous improvement and capability building.
What you'll do:
As Learning and Development Manager, you will be entrusted with leading the design, delivery, and evaluation of learning initiatives that span both clinical and non-clinical domains. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve collaborating closely with HR, operations teams, clinical leaders, and external partners to ensure that every member of the workforce receives consistent access to high-quality training. You will take ownership of onboarding processes for new starters by developing engaging digital content that reflects the organisation's values. In addition to overseeing ongoing professional development opportunities - including traineeships - you will manage compliance-related training such as infection control protocols and national accreditation requirements. Your ability to build strong relationships internally and externally will be crucial as you coordinate learning projects from conception through implementation. By maintaining robust systems for tracking progress via the LMS and providing insightful reporting to stakeholders, you will help drive continuous improvement across all facets of learning within this dynamic environment.
- Design and execute comprehensive clinical and non-clinical professional development programmes tailored to the needs of a large, multi-site workforce.
- Create engaging online induction and onboarding content to ensure new staff are welcomed effectively and set up for success from day one.
- Develop training initiatives aligned with the organisation's service excellence and culture framework to foster a consistent employee experience.
- Manage relationships with external training providers and education partners to deliver high-quality learning solutions across all sites.
- Oversee the Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring content is current, relevant, and accessible while managing scheduling for all training activities.
- Support Certificate III & IV traineeship programmes by coordinating delivery across various locations and ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
- Implement national accreditation programmes to maintain compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate infection control training sessions, practice audits, and compliance communications to uphold best practices throughout the business.
- Ensure all clinicians meet key compliance requirements such as registrations, licenses, and insurances through diligent monitoring and communication.
- Maintain and update clinical Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in partnership with internal committees to reflect evolving best practices.
What you bring:
To excel as Learning and Development Manager in this forward-thinking organisation, you will bring substantial experience from healthcare or similarly regulated service sectors where multi-site operations are standard. Your background should demonstrate successful delivery of large-scale L&D programmes that address both technical competencies and cultural alignment. A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment would be advantageous; however, candidates who can evidence deep practical expertise are equally encouraged. Your comfort navigating digital tools - especially LMS platforms - and your proficiency in Microsoft Office will enable you to streamline processes efficiently. Interpersonal skills are vital: your ability to facilitate sessions confidently while fostering trust among colleagues ensures effective knowledge transfer. Experience managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders - including external vendors - will allow you to oversee initiatives from inception through evaluation seamlessly. Commercial insight coupled with operational sensitivity means you understand how learning impacts broader business objectives. Above all else, your commitment to nurturing others' growth within an inclusive environment sets you apart.
- Demonstrated understanding of healthcare or dental environments or other complex multi-site service industries where compliance is paramount.
- Proven track record in delivering impactful learning and development strategies that enhance capability at scale within growing organisations.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent qualification is highly regarded but not essential if offset by significant practical experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite alongside hands-on experience managing Learning Management Systems such as Litmos or similar platforms.
- Exceptional facilitation skills combined with an ability to build rapport quickly with stakeholders at all levels - from frontline staff to executive leadership.
- Experience managing end-to-end projects including planning, implementation, change management processes, vendor engagement, and return on investment analysis.
- Strong commercial acumen paired with operational awareness gained from working within businesses experiencing rapid expansion or transformation.
- Excellent written communication skills for preparing documentation, insights reports, SOPs updates, and compliance communications tailored for diverse audiences.
What sets this company apart:

The workplace culture is renowned for being energetic yet grounded in shared values that prioritise collaboration over competition. Employees benefit from flexible hybrid working arrangements designed around well-being as much as productivity; typically spending just three or four days per fortnight on-site in North Sydney while enjoying autonomy over their schedules. The leadership team is approachable and deeply invested in each individual's success - offering clear pathways for progression alongside ongoing support. With a focus on continuous improvement rather than rigid hierarchies or bureaucracy, this is an environment where your contributions are recognised quickly.
