Category 5 Labour Management is seeking an experienced Fitting/Machining Supervisor for our client in Henderson, WA. The role is with a WA-owned company providing mechanical, preservation, and asset maintenance services to mining, oil & gas, naval defence, and marine sectors for over 40 years. Operating from a large, well-equipped workshop at the Australian Marine Complex, the team delivers high-quality fitting and surface treatment work focused on extending asset life, improving efficiency, and reducing costs.

Location: Henderson WA 6166 Roster: Monday - Friday 6am start Employment Type: Labour hire 3-month contract with the view to permanent Pay Rate: $60–$70/hr flat (negotiable based on experience)
Key Responsibilities

• Oversee fitting/machining workshop operations to meet project timelines, scope, and quality
• Lead and develop a team of tradespeople with a strong focus on morale and productivity
• Ensure all works comply with safety, environmental, and quality standards (ISO 9001, 14001, AS3834, 45001)
• Manage tooling, asset registers, parts availability, and subcontractor performance
• Drive continuous improvement in productivity, cost control, and efficiency
• Engage in regular safety meetings, audits, and risk reporting

What You Bring

• Trade-qualified (essential) – mechanical/fitting background
• Experience in a similar leadership role
• Excellent people leadership and time management skills
• Strong understanding of safety systems and modern maintenance practices
• Ability to manage competing priorities and ensure work is fully scoped and resourced
• Familiarity with ISO, QA, and WHS systems
• Safety tickets highly regarded – W@H, Dogging, Rigging, LF, HRWL
