About the Role

You’ll take charge of a modern mechanical workshop servicing heavy road transport vehicles and specialised equipment. You’ll be supported by an experienced maintenance manager while supervising day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance, and mentoring a diverse team of mechanics, apprentices, and tyre fitters.

Residential or FIFO – Your Choice

Residential Option: Includes a $400 per week rental subsidy to support relocation and living costs.

FIFO Option: Fly-in-fly-out opportunity available. Roster to be discussed based on candidate location and availability.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage a busy heavy vehicle maintenance workshop

Supervise mechanics, apprentices, and tyre fitters

Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams

Coordinate inspections, repairs, and testing of vehicles and equipment

Maintain service records and oversee compliance activities

Foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement

Your Skill Set

Essential:

Trade-qualified diesel mechanic or equivalent

Strong background in heavy vehicle maintenance (Kenworth / CAT / Cummins)

Prior experience in a supervisory or leading hand role

Competent in workshop systems, safety compliance, and team management

Forklift licence + current manual C-class driver’s licence

Sound understanding of CoR and road transport legislation

Desirable:

Experience in fuel tanker maintenance

MC truck licence
