Role Overview:

We are currently seeking a Machine Operator with experience in laser cutting and brake press operation to join our client’s team on a full-time, permanent basis. This role is workshop-based and involves preparing structural steel components using CNC machinery. Overtime is available during busy periods, and the role offers long-term employment with consistent hours.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate laser cutting machinery for precision cutting of structural steel plates
• Carry out basic press brake bending work in line with specifications and job orders
• Interpret and work from fabrication drawings and measurements
• Perform quality checks on finished components, ensuring accuracy and consistency
• Assist with workshop duties including material handling, basic housekeeping, and support for other team members
• Maintain machinery and equipment in line with safe operating procedures and workshop standards

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven experience operating laser cutting machines and brake press equipment in a steel fabrication or similar environment
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Physically fit and able to handle steel materials and manual tasks
• Forklift license (or willingness to obtain)
• Strong attention to detail and quality-focused approach
• Ability to work both independently and within a team
• Full Australian working rights and availability to commence within the coming weeks
