Finance Manager – Remote (Sydney-Based) – Maternity Cover (12-month Fixed-Term contract)

Lead the finance function of a high-growth fintech – remotely.

CarClarity is a rapidly growing digital car loan broker that simplifies the car finance journey for Australians. Our Sydney-based fintech is looking for an experienced and self-driven Finance Manager to cover during our Financial Controller’s maternity leave. This is a high-impact, fixed-term contract role lasting 12 months with full remote flexibility.

About the Role

Reporting to the COO, you'll be responsible for end-to-end finance operations, compliance, reporting, and leading a remote Assistant Accountant. This role is hands-on and strategic, ideal for someone with prior finance leadership experience in a high-growth environment.

Key responsibilities:

Oversee finance operations, payroll, AP/AR, and month-end close

Prepare and present monthly management reports

Manage BAS, payroll tax, superannuation, and ATO compliance

Maintain and update budgets, forecasts, and cash flow models

Prepare monthly sales commission calculation and referral fees

Ensure strong internal controls and continuous process improvements

Supervise and mentor a remote Assistant Accountant (offshore-based)

Support R&D tax submission and external reporting

About You

CA/CPA qualified with 5+ years' experience in a mid-level finance role

Previous experience in a startup/scale-up or finance environment (highly regarded but not essential)

Strong knowledge of Xero and Excel-based financial modelling

A confident communicator with stakeholder management skills

Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working remotely
