About the role

The role is responsible for the implementation and review of the Manningham Open Space Strategy and for the provision of professional guidance and support on matters relating to the delivery of the Strategy. At a strategic level the Senior Open Space Planner is tasked with the delivery of contemporary masterplans, policies and strategies for the open space network within Council and at a place-based level, it is responsible for the planning, design and delivery of capital projects which deliver on the strategic intent. The Senior Open Space Planner plays a key role in shaping and creating well-designed, liveable and vibrant open spaces for our community.

Skills and experience

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Open Space Planning, Landscape Architecture or allied discipline. A post graduate qualification and/or several years experience in a more specialised area of relevance would also be highly regarded.
• Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of open space strategies, concept plans, masterplans, open space planning policy and strategic plans.
• Sound understanding of current open space planning and design principles and practices.
• Demonstrated skills and ability in coordinating complex projects to ensure high quality output both on time and within budget.
• Proven high level analytical and conceptual skills and demonstrated experience in solving complex issues related to open space networks, ability to effectively communicate to a broad audience.
• Current Victorians drivers licence.
