Senior Business Development Manager – Global Payments
Our client is expanding their footprint rapidly across the globe by solving complex currency and payment challenges for high-net-worth individuals and businesses around the globe.
As a result of business growth, an opportunity has arisen for someone to drive sales growth in Australia. Responsible for client acquisition efforts in Australia, the successful candidate will demonstrate strong understanding of financial services products, particularly foreign exchange, cross-border payments, and treasury solutions for both corporates and high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs). They will focus on generating new business opportunities, building long-term relationships with clients and introducing partners, and be seen as a ‘go-to’ for complex transactions.
We’re looking for a sharp, driven individual, that is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese or Vietnamese.
Key Responsibilities include:
· Proactively generate new leads through networking, referrals, and digital channels.
· Qualify prospects, understand their FX/payment needs, and present tailored solutions.
· Identify and develop new business opportunities within target market segments, including corporates, SMEs, and HNWIs with cross-border payment and FX requirements.
· Attend local industry events, conferences, and networking functions to represent the company and build visibilty
· Collaborate with marketing to optimize campaigns and lead nurturing.
· Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships to drive retention and cross-sell opportunities.
· Act as a trusted advisor to clients, offering strategic insights on FX risk management and international payment optimisation.
· Maintain an accurate and up-to-date sales pipeline using CRM tools (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics).
· Track all client interactions, follow-ups, and opportunities with diligence and discipline.
· Provide regular forecasting and reporting to senior management.
· Stay up to date with macroeconomic trends, FX market developments, and competitor activity.
· Provide feedback to product and marketing teams to ensure alignment with client needs and market expectations
· Own the full sales cycle from lead generation through to contract closing.
· Consistently meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.
· Demonstrate a high-performance, data-driven mindset with a focus on delivering measurable outcomes
Candidates should demonstrate:
· Proven B2B sales experience, preferably within fintech, payments, or banking.
· Strong networks within Chinese-speaking business and investor community in Australia
· Proven ability to originate, nurture, and close B2B or HNW deals
· Strong understanding of FX markets, international payments, and/or treasury management.
· Fluency in both English and Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is preferred although we will be interested to speak to candidates with Vietnamese language skills. (written and verbal).
· Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
· Ability to work independently and remotely with minimal supervision.
