We are seeking a proactive and strategically minded Project Estimator to take ownership of end-to-end cost planning. You’ll be central to how we scope and price projects, strengthen our systems, and build a stronger trade and subcontractor network nationally.

This isn’t just a back-office role – you’ll be in direct contact with clients, engineers and key stakeholders, shaping budgets, contributing to submissions, and aligning with the Steelcorp project methodology that underpins our turn-key offering.

Responsibilities

Prepare accurate, detailed cost estimates for turn-key steel building projects, encompassing design, permits, civil works, services, and construction delivery.

Work closely with internal and external teams to ensure estimates reflect Steelcorp’s broader design–construct–deliver methodology.

Establish and maintain a growing trade partner and subcontractor network across multiple states.

Collaborate with clients during briefing sessions, attend presentations, and support relationship development from tender through to award.

Assist in preparing professional tender submissions, design briefs, budgets, and pre-contract documentation.

Liaise with internal design teams and external engineers to align on scope, resolve technical inputs, and support strategic value engineering.

Maintain and update costing databases, supplier price lists, and risk contingencies.

About You

Proven experience in project estimating, cost planning, or project coordination within the commercial/industrial building sector.

Strong understanding of D&C contract structures and the full turn-key delivery process.

Confident in client-facing situations, with clear communication and interpersonal skills.

Skilled in identifying and implementing system/process improvements.

Comfortable interpreting drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
