About the role

Solid Metal Piling, a leading construction company, is seeking an experienced Estimating Team Leader to join their team in Smeaton Grange, New South Wales. As the Estimating Team Leader, you will play a pivotal role in driving the company's estimating processes and delivering high-quality, accurate estimates to support the organisation's strategic growth initiatives.

What you'll be doing

Lead and manage a team of estimators, ensuring they deliver timely and accurate estimates for a diverse range of construction projects

Develop and implement robust estimating procedures and controls to enhance the efficiency and reliability of the estimating function

Collaborate with project managers, procurement, and other stakeholders to gather and analyse project requirements, identify potential risks, and develop comprehensive estimates

Provide guidance and mentorship to the estimating team, fostering their professional development and continuous improvement

Continuously monitor market trends, technology advancements, and industry best practices to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost optimisation

Contribute to the overall strategic planning and decision-making processes by providing data-driven insights and recommendations

What we're looking for

Extensive experience (3+ years) in construction estimating, with a proven track record of leading and managing an estimating team

Detailed understanding of construction materials, techniques, and industry regulations, as well as the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential risks

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

Proficiency in using estimating software and tools, with the ability to develop and implement process improvements

Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field is highly desirable
