ABOUT THE GARDEN PATH
We provide businesses all over Sydney with indoor pots and plants to brighten their workplaces.
Our small team of serviceman and servicewoman visit our clients on a regular schedule to maintain their plants; watering, pruning and rotating plants with nursery stock as needed.
We have a small nursery located in Ingleside on the northern beaches (not open to the public) where we keep a rotating stock of roughly 2,000 plants to be used in existing and new jobs.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re looking for a part-time operations coordinator to initially work 2 to 3 days per week and expect there will be an option to go to 4 or 5 days a week within 12 to 24 months if desired.
We’re looking for a real allrounder - The role would suit someone who enjoys variety in their work and has the skills and attitude to match. To some degree the role can be catered to the right person and would involve tasks including:
Nursery work - watering, repotting, treating for pests, ordering new plants from growers, general tidy up etc.
Client facing work - quoting, installing and removing jobs and general trouble shooting of issues on existing jobs.
Sick and holiday leave cover – covering our serviceman/servicewoman’s maintenance runs when on sick and holiday leave.
We generally start our days at the nursery in Ingleside at 6am – however could be flexible.
TO BE THE RIGHT FIT YOU'LL NEED TO
Ideally have experience working with plants or at least a keen interest
be honest, reliable, hardworking and self-motivated
have good customer service skills and be polite and well presented
have an unrestricted driver's license and be confident driving manual
be confident driving and parking a van in the CBD
have basic computer skills and the ability to send and respond to client emails in a professional manner
have a positive attitude and the ability to problem solve
Be handy and willing to take on ad hoc tasks
IT'S A BONUS IF YOU
have horticulture qualifications and/or experience in a similar role
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU
once established in the role the days and hours will be flexible wherever practical
$35 to $45 per hour
you’ll have access to a work vehicle and fuel card
you’ll work mainly on your own having the opportunity and responsibility to ensure the nursery is maintained in good order and help ensure our clients workplaces are green and lush
you’ll be able to progress, taking on more responsibility when you’re ready and be able to shape the role to suit your likes and strengths
