About the Opportunity
IFYS is seeking a passionate and experienced Practice Advisor – Sanctuary to lead the implementation of the Sanctuary Model across the organisation.
Reporting to the Practice Manager, this role plays a key part in embedding trauma-informed practices that support both employees and service users. You will also function as Practice Advisor in the Practice Hub, to guide the development of positive behaviour support plans, respond to emerging trends, and deliver tailored internal training that strengthens practice and promotes wellbeing across IFYS services.

Key Responsibilities
Lead the implementation of the Sanctuary Model and embedding trauma-informed practices throughout the organisation
Collaborate with care teams to design and implement evidence-based behavioural interventions and positive behaviour support plans
Review incident data to inform practice improvements and training
Chair the Sanctuary Core Team and subgroups, fostering collaborative practice
Develop communication strategies to promote Sanctuary principles and provided mentoring to staff in consistent use of Sanctuary tools and trauma-informed approaches
Oversee the project management of Sanctuary initiatives and develop systems for collecting evidence for Sanctuary certification
Develop resources and contribute to continuous improvement via the Practice Hub
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Requirements for the role
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Behavioural Science, or a related field
Demonstrated experience in implementing trauma-informed practice frameworks, preferably the Sanctuary Model
A comprehensive and up to date understanding of child protection legislation
Strong understanding of positive behaviour support principles and experience in developing behaviour support plans
Ability to analyse data to identify practice improvements and training initiatives
Experience delivering training to small groups and ongoing support to staff to embed evidence-based approaches
High-level written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and resource development
Must hold or be willing to obtain if successful
Valid Queensland driver's license with no restrictions
QLD Working with Children Check (Paid Blue Card)
Licensed Care Suitability Check (LCS2)
National Crime Check (IFYS will complete a new check through our systems)
Ability to provide two recent line manager references including your current employer
