About the Role
- Support the Senior Safety Advisor & Manager Health, Safety & Wellbeing in providing professional and technical expertise to management, line supervisors and facilities on matters involving workplace safety, injury prevention, legislative compliance, WHS policy and service delivery.
- As part of the Safety team, work in alignment with the department to achieve consistent and solution focused safety practice, safety initiatives and projects, service delivery arrangements and performance outcomes.
- Provide advice and reports to management, both at the HHS and department level on WHS legislation or performance issues affecting facilities within the HHS.
- Support local networks of appointed Health and Safety contacts, Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinators (RRTWC) and elected Health and Safety Representatives (HSR) or Safety Champions
- Assist in the coordination and risk management practices required by CHQ's Respiratory Fit Testing Program, Food Services, Logistics and Materials distribution and patient coordination services (Portering, Cleaning & Chemical Management).
- Undertake and coordinate and review the investigation of WHS incidents relating to workers and facilities and facilitate the preparation of appropriate reports on these issues.
- Support the auditing and inspections of relevant WHS systems ascertaining compliance with legislation and approved policy/guideline and establish risk profiles and implement improved WHS and injury management systems.
- Lead the undertaking, coordination and maintenance of records/reports of workplace and equipment inspections to comply with legislation and departmental and HHS policy.
- Undertake and support tasks where needed across the broader Health, Safety & Wellbeing Team & other associated tasks where directed.
