Are you a technically skilled professional with a passion for infrastructure and a sharp eye for detail? Our client is seeking a Technical Mechanical Specialist for a 12-month contract to provide expert maintenance representation across a diverse portfolio of capital projects.

In this dynamic role, you'll be embedded in every phase of project delivery-from early business case development to commissioning and closeout-ensuring our assets are designed and maintained for long-term performance, safety, and reliability.

As a Technical Specialist, you'll be actively involved in every phase of project delivery, ensuring maintenance needs are embedded from the outset. Your responsibilities will include:

• Provide expert advice on maintenance and reliability to shape robust project scopes.
• Assess and comment on Principal Project Requirements to ensure alignment with operational needs.
• Validate Scope of Works documents, particularly in response to reactive maintenance changes.
• Review RFIs and project contingencies, including spare parts and maintenance deliverables.
• Evaluate drawings and design documentation and contribute to design workshops to ensure maintainability and constructability.
• Act as a subject matter expert in HAZOP, CHAZOP, and Safety in Design sessions, focusing on reliability and operational practicality.
• Review testing artefacts to ensure compliance with technical standards and long-term maintainability.
• Assist with deviation requests and RFIs, attend project meetings, and conduct site inspections as needed.
• Attend site with the Commissioning Manager or Project Manager to support commissioning activities.
• Participate in final site walkarounds, review documentation, and support project acceptance to ensure a seamless transition to operations.

Qualifications:

• Associate Diploma in Engineering or relevant trade qualification.
• Strong technical knowledge in asset design and maintainability.
• Current "C" class Queensland Driver's Licence.

Desirable:

• Post-trade qualification in maintenance management.
• Familiarity with asset condition assessment and maintenance planning.
• Extensive experience in maintenance within the utilities industry.
