Youth Empowered Towards Independence (YETI) is a community based not-for-profit organisation that delivers a range of voluntary youth AOD and other support services targeting the most vulnerable and disadvantaged children and young people living within the Cairns and FNQ region.
As part of our Management Team this role reports directly to the North Queensland Youth AOD Service Director to oversee the program management of two AOD funded programs.
The successful candidate will
Supervise a team of staff.
Provide expert advice and strategic input into the development and monitoring of program deliverables.
Produce performance reports and conduct regular team meetings to review progress and resolve issues.
Lead effective stakeholder engagement with a wide range of organisations, agencies and offices.
Participate in regular supervision, annual risk assessments, and performance reviews.
Engage in Management Team Meetings, Intake Meetings, Planned Support Coordination meetings, Staff Meetings, and quality improvement processes.
Monitor trends, emerging issues, and best practices, reporting to management.
Hold a small complex case load of Young People and the case management of their supports.
To apply for this role, you will have:
A relevant tertiary degree in social work, psychology, counselling or related field.
Extensive experience in program management, preferably within the AOD sector.
Demonstrated understanding of the AOD space, including current trends, challenges, and best practices.
Leadership experience and the ability to lead across teams.
Proven ability to manage a team aligned with service agreements, ensuring adherence to performance indicators, compliance, and reporting requirements.
Experience in producing performance reports, conducting regular team meetings, and resolving issues promptly.
Demonstrated ability to provide effective staff supervision, including monthly supervision sessions, maintaining records, and supporting staff development.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
The following criteria must also be met:
Eligibility for a Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or exemption based on professional qualifications and registration.
A current Qld driver’s licence.
Evidence of eligibility to legally work in Australia.
