Echo Marine Group is an Australian owned and operated company with over 10 years’ experience in the Marine Industry. We specialize in the manufacture of Luxury Superyachts, Commercial Workboats, and Refits and Maintenance on a range of vessels in the Superyacht, Workboat and Defence areas.
We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to start an Apprenticeship in Marine Fitting. So if you are interested in joining a dynamic team and have a can-do attitude, we would love to talk to you! We will provide all the training you need from our qualified Marine Fitters on site, as well as supporting you through your Tafe studies along the way to completing your Apprenticeship.
What are we looking for in an ideal Apprentice?
We understand that you are just starting your career in your chosen trade and so what we are looking for in an Apprentice is:
A positive attitude and ability to work in a team environment
A willingness to learn new things
A great work ethic to get to work on time and ready to go
You have a good mechanical aptitude and great hand skills
Completion of a Pre-Apprenticeship in Engineering would be desirable but not essential
Own transport, or other reliable way to get to work each day. (Public Transport is not readily available)
You will need to be a Permanent Resident of Australia to apply for this position.

Experience in all aspects of Mechanical Systems on all types of vessels including;
Installation and replacement of marine power plants and drive trains; (Please note that you will not be involved in actual mechanical works on engines.)
Installation of mechanical plant and piping systems.
Read and understand technical drawings to construct systems and equipment into vessels under construction or repair.
Learn basic welding skills in TIG and MIG.
Learn to use hand and power tools safely and correctly.
CULTURE & BENEFITS:
Echo Marine Group offers a competitive hourly rate based on a four-day week: Monday to Thursday, with potential for overtime. (You may need you to attend Tafe on a Friday)
