SERVICE & TEST TECHNICIAN / WORKSHOP ASSISTANT
In this position you will have the opportunity to take on a range of service and repair duties in our well-established workshop. You will also spend approximately 4-5 months at onsite work throughout the year, spread over periodical site visits of 1-5 days duration to various WA Mine Sites to carry out testing and minor repairs of hydraulic and pneumatic tooling. Some are DIDO, some are FIFO. Experience in a similar role and knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic tooling would be highly desirable, however all training will be provided to the right candidate, to ensure competent representation of Apex Hydraulics.
All applicants must be a Permanent Resident of Western Australia.
This position is full-time.
This position will be accountable for:
On Site - Travel to various WA mine site workshops, to carry out onsite testing, calibrations, safety and maintenance inspections and minor repairs of hydraulic and pneumatic tooling. Onsite work is predominantly in south-west of WA and the Pilbara region. Flexibility to travel and accommodate this is a must.
Whilst on site, represent Apex Hydraulics by maintaining high standards of professionalism.
Workshop (Rockingham Based) – Assisting workshop technicians in the cleaning, repair, servicing, testing and calibration of high pressure hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
Inspection and accurate recording of service and repair documentation.
Packing and despatch duties in our stores including deliveries and collections.
Compliance to and awareness of Health & Safety regulations and requirements.
To be successful you must have:
A valid, unrestricted Australian driver's licence.
Able to pass a pre-employment medical and ongoing random, drug and alcohol tests.
A good mechanical aptitude and strong desire to learn.
A medium level of computer literacy.
The ability to read breakdown sheets and identify spare parts.
Reliability and well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
Trade qualification in Mechanical/Engineering field (Certificate III or higher) will be favourably considered.
Normal Workshop (Rockingham Based) Hours will be 7:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday to Thursday and 7:30 am to 2:00 pm Friday, although flexibility is required during onsite attendance as these typically consist of a 12hr day.

Permanent position once a 6-month probationary period is successfully completed.
