WML requires a Civil Designer Draftsperson to join our Kalgoorlie Branch. This position will designs and prepares drawings for various civil, road and drainage projects, using 12D / OpenRoads and AutoCAD.

Salary: $90,000 + Super

KEY DELIVERIES

Design

Prepares engineering designs and drawings for various civil, road and drainage projects in accordance with the relevant guidelines, standards and codes of practice.

Carries out site inspections and measurements when required and reports and documents those observations in drawings or other records.

Contributes to the development, maintenance and improvement of job management processes and systems within the company.

Undertakes to research and include innovation in design solutions where appropriate.

Administration

Assists engineering staff to acquire electronic and other data from a variety of sources.

Prepares records and manages the filing of documentation, drawings, maps and the like in accordance with company guidelines and processes.

Contributes to the development, maintenance and improvement of job management processes and systems within the Company.

Other duties and assignments as required.

Contract Management

Assists in the preparation of tender and contract documentation.

Carries out site inspections and measurements when required and reports the results.

SELECTION CRITERIA

A Diploma course in Civil Engineering or other related discipline, or an equivalent level of skill, knowledge and experience.

Comprehensive skill, knowledge and experience in:

One or more of civil, road and drainage design,

Developing skills in using various design software,

Proficient skills in AutoCAD.

Knowledge of 12D / OpenRoads, beneficial but not essential.

Pavements Group

Our Pavements Group combines extensive soils knowledge and comprehensive data analysis to provide sound site development solutions across the state, providing investigation and design for all types of pavements and all pavement loadings. Our pavement design services include urban and rural highways, local roads, airstrips, haul roads and industrial pavements. The team also offers materials sourcing as part of our comprehensive pavement and surfacing design capabilities. Their intimate knowledge of material characteristics and behaviour as well as their experience in locating, evaluating and managing material stocks throughout the state ensure cost-effective and durable pavement solutions.

Structural Group

Our structures team offers extensive experience designing with steel, reinforced concrete, timber and other less common materials. They specialise in providing customised building solutions that deliver value for money. For structures already in place, the team can devise asset integrity management plans to prioritise upgrades, repairs and replacement.
