About the role

The Civil Landscape Designer DCP Projects is responsible for designing a range of Civil and Landscape projects, with varying degrees of complexity and value. DCP projects will typically include the civil design of Roads, Carparks, Footpaths and swales requiring Streetscape and Landscape design of Regional, District, Neighbourhood and Local Open Spaces, City Gateways, playgrounds, and other park/reserve modifications.

The role includes the preparation of concept plans and design development through to detailed design, construction documentation and construction administration.

The position is fundamental to the City's ability to deliver its capital works programme and is therefore a key position.

Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Liaise with Project Managers, construction/survey staff to enable practical and cost-effective designs.
  • Liaise with internal and external customers on landscape matters relating to the municipal infrastructure.
  • Review, check and comment upon landscape designs prepared externally.
  • Accountable for the delivery of their own designs to time, budget and quality; preparing cost estimates at each stage of the detailed design process.
  • Maintain contract specifications and estimates of projects and shall work with a minimum of supervision.

About you

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Tertiary Qualification in Civil, Landscape, Urban Design or equivalent
  • Current drivers license
  • 12D, AutoCAD, Sketch-up and Adobe Creative Suite and other computer aided design software application working knowledge
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability working as part of a team delivering projects on time, to budget and to the required standard
  • High conversant with MS Office suite of software
  • A satisfactory National Police Certificate is required.

The salary for this position will be from $91,194 to $108,194 per annum, depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
