The Role

As Accounting Manager, you will contribute to the financial success of the company's regional branches, ensuring compliance with accounting, audit, tax, and administrative functions. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will lead and manage the administration team, playing a pivotal role in the accuracy, efficiency, and integrity of financial reporting and operational support.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Partnership: Collaborate with the Branch General Manager to ensure financial health by overseeing administration functions, meeting deadlines, and delivering error-free financial reporting.
• Data Analysis: Forecast and analyse data to understand trends, predict customer behaviour, and align with revenue/profit targets while monitoring spending.
• Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and coach the administration team while delivering ongoing performance feedback to foster productivity and job satisfaction.
• Accounts Management: Manage accounts receivable/payable processes, debtor collections, and ensure adherence to company policies for vendor and credit transactions.
• Tax & Compliance: Oversee tax compliance, carbon reporting, FBT, budgeting procedures, and stocktake audits.
• Reporting & Forecasting: Prepare accurate profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and financial commentary on variances to budgets.

Qualifications & Skills

• Proven experience in accounting or finance leadership roles in retail, business, or a similar industry.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, ERP/CRM software, and familiarity with payroll or fixed asset management systems.
• Strong data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting capabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams with a focus on efficiency, quality outputs, and customer satisfaction.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to partner with management and external stakeholders.
• Certifications such as CPA or equivalent are an advantage.
