Part time (min. 24 hrs) — Full-time available for the right candidate at pro rata

You will translate concept and detailed designs prepared by our agronomists and engineers into accurate, build ready CAD drawings covering:

- Natural turf playing fields (elite & community)

- Sub surface drainage networks

- Automated irrigation layouts & hydraulics (following information provided by irrigation consultant)

- Root zone and soil profile build ups

- Ancillary civil works (e.g., paths, services, grading & levels)

Role Purpose

You will translate concept and detailed designs prepared by our agronomists and engineers into accurate, build‑ready CAD drawings covering:

- Natural‑turf playing fields (elite & community)

- Sub‑surface drainage networks

- Automated irrigation layouts & hydraulics (following information provided by irrigation consultant)

- Root‑zone and soil‑profile build‑ups

- Ancillary civil works (e.g., paths, services, grading & levels)

Key Responsibilities

Design Phase - Documentation

Example Tasks - Convert sketches, BIM/Civil 3D models and red‑line mark‑ups into detailed plan, section & detail sheets in AutoCAD, ensuring compliance with AustRoads, WSUD and council standards.

Coordination - Liaise with agronomists, civil engineers, irrigation designers and external surveyors to resolve clashes, update drawing registers and meet programme milestones.

Quality Assurance - Check drawings for dimensional accuracy, drawing‑set consistency, layer standards and best drafting practice before issue for tender or construction.

Data & Asset Handover - Prepare CAD, PDF and GIS deliverables (incl. attribute data for asset registers) that integrate with client FM systems.

Continual Improvement - Maintain block/library standards and contribute to drafting workflows that reduce re‑work and speed up council approvals.

Essential Qualifications & Skills

- Certificate IV or Diploma in Civil Drafting, CAD Technology or equivalent.

- 3+ years drafting experience in civil or landscape‑infrastructure projects (stormwater, earthworks, irrigation).

- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD 2025 (XRefs, Sheet Set Manager, Civil 3D surfaces & alignments).

- Working knowledge of Australian Standards for drainage, reclaimed‑water irrigation and sports‑ground construction.

- Ability to interpret survey data, grading plans and hydraulic schematics.

- Strong attention to detail and capacity to manage multiple deadlines.

- Professional written and verbal communication skills for client & contractor interface.

Desirable Extras

- Experience drafting USGA‑style golf‑green or sand‑carpet profiles.

- Familiarity with Bluebeam or BIM collaboration platforms (Navisworks, Revit).

- Basic understanding of turfgrass agronomy or horticulture.

- Competency in Adobe Illustrator / InDesign for presentation boards.
