Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) is seeking to appoint a 12-month fixed-term Top Class Events Producer, engaged to plan, coordinate and deliver the annual Top Class Concerts and Regional tours.

The VCAA is a statutory body responsible to the Victorian Minister for Education, serving both government and non-government schools. We provide high quality curriculum, assessment and reporting for all Victorian students birth to 18 years.

The Top Class Events Producer role will join the VCAA Festival and Events team, responsible for the development and delivery of VCE Season of Excellence Festival showcasing exemplary work by VCE students undertaking design, fine art, media, performing arts and extended investigation studies.

The Season of Excellence festival comprises Top Talks at State Library Victoria, two exhibitions (Top Arts at the NGV and Top Designs at Melbourne Museum), Top Class performances and concerts at the Melbourne Recital Centre and other regional venues, Top Screen short film screenings at ACMI, and a literary publication for Top Scribe.

The purpose of the Top Class Events Producer role is to provide high level technical production skills as the coordinator for the Top Class and Top Class Regional concerts featuring the performing arts components of the VCE Season of Excellence. Excellent organisational ability and strong communication skills are necessary to succeed in this role, along with a solutions-focused mindset and ability to work under pressure.

Dutes include:

schedule and coordinate auditions,

liaise with selected performers, contractors, production and technical staff at venues,

coordinate databases and communications for the project,

liaise with concert venues to formulate timelines, arrange and attend production meetings, communicate concert and ticketing requirements,

develop rehearsal, sound check and production schedules, stage plots and all associated concert documentation,

coordinate program information and liaise with designers to ensure delivery in a timely way,

assist with marketing and promotion ideas,

coordinate and facilitate workshops for participating students,

build and maintain professional relationships with relevant program stakeholders and partners and collaborate with internal teams to support the VCAA and the Festival and Events programs objectives,

complete administrative and reporting needs and requirements, including coordinating schedules, timelines, financial administration, and communications and correspondence to ensure effective delivery and documentation of programs,

contribute to the production and facilitation of other events within the Festival and Events remit, as required,

participate in reviews of programs and implement responsive improvements to their planning, development and implementation

contribute to a workplace that is diverse, innovative, responsive, inclusive, safe and reflects VPS values.

Previous experience and knowledge of performing arts and technical event production is highly desirable.
