About the role
This position provides a professional labour relations consultancy and advisory service to Public Transport Authority (PTA) management. It contributes to the development, coordination, and implementation of labour relations policies, procedures, practices, and approaches that align with the PTA’s strategic objectives.
The role supports PTA management by promoting and facilitating understanding of labour relations policy and practice, and researching, promoting, and coordinating strategic, innovative approaches to meet organisational goals through strong stakeholder networks and the ongoing development of team members. It involves investigating, developing, and implementing strategic and proactive labour relations initiatives, liaising with employee associations and Government agencies, and representing the PTA in mediations, negotiations and hearings.

Proven experience in labour relations in an industrially or operationally complex organisation, including consultancy, negotiation, and advocacy.
Strong knowledge of the public sector structure and function, as well as current public sector labour relations practices, policies, trends, and emerging issues.
Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills, including the ability to engage and empower teams, develop staff, manage resources, and support change.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to resolve labour relations conflicts and work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and advise on the role and application of industrial instruments and develop practical, innovative solutions to complex workplace issues.
Well-developed organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities effectively.

This is a pool recruitment process where suitable applicants will be placed in a pool for 12 months.
