About your new role
Are you passionate about data and enabling enterprise-scale analytics? As Platform Administrator (Power BI), you’ll play a key role in managing the City of Gold Coast’s integrated Microsoft data ecosystem, ensuring secure, high-performance access to insights across Fabric, Power BI, and Microsoft Purview. This role empowers the City's data-driven future while upholding best-practice governance and platform optimisation.
In this role, you will:
Administer and optimise the Microsoft analytics platform, including Fabric lakehouses, Power BI workspaces, data warehouses, pipelines, and Purview.
Establish and maintain data governance using Microsoft Purview, ensuring data cataloguing, lineage tracking, and compliance.
Manage access control and authentication across analytics tools, ensuring secure, auditable data use.
Support business units through self-service enablement and curated data models in Power BI.
Monitor performance and resource utilisation to improve scalability and reliability.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to align platform functionality with the City's data strategy.
Champion training, documentation, and platform innovation across the organisation.
We're looking for people who have:
A tertiary qualification in IT, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or equivalent experience.
Certification in Power BI (e.g., PL-300: Power BI Data Analyst Associate).
Proven experience managing enterprise-scale Microsoft data and analytics environments.
Deep understanding of Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and Microsoft Purview.
Strong skills in data governance, platform performance tuning, and stakeholder engagement.
