About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Finance Assistant to join our on-site team at Saints Catholic College in Townsville, Queensland. This part-time role will be responsible for providing essential accounting support to our Business Operations Manager.

What you'll be doing

Processing and maintaining accurate financial records, including accounts payable and accounts receivable

Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and other accounting documents to be provided to the Business Operations Manager (BOM) and CEO-Head of College

Performing data entry tasks and maintaining organised filing systems

Assisting with fortnightly payroll data preparation for submission to external payroll office in the absence of the BOM

Adhering to all relevant accounting standards and internal policies

Any other reasonable duties assigned by the CEO, BOM, or the Most Reverend Bishop of Townsville.

What we're looking for

Relevant experience in an bookkeeping/accounting or similar role, preferably within a collegiate or not-for-profit organisation

Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate financial records

Proficient in using MYOB AccountRight accounting software and Microsoft Office applications

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with colleagues and external stakeholders

A positive attitude and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

Relevant qualifications in accounting or a related field not essential but would be highly regarded

Knowledge of StarRez housing accommodation software would be advantageous but not essential.

Current Working With Children Blue Card (or ability to obtain one) is Essential
