Step into an exciting career with our vibrant Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Services team as an Aerospace Worker, where you'll support the Helicopter Aircrew Training System (HATS) program at Swartz Barracks, Oakey, Queensland. This entry-level position is your gateway to the aerospace industry, offering incredible opportunities for growth and development.
In this pivotal role, you'll be hands-on with the EC135 fleet and related equipment. Your tasks will include expertly handling and manoeuvring aircraft on the flight line, re-fuelling as necessary, and providing essential workshop assistance under the mentorship of seasoned professionals. You'll also play a key role in maintaining aircraft hangars and Ground Support Equipment (GSE), assisting tradespeople with site-related tasks, and managing supply duties, including packing and transporting goods.
Safety and health are our top priorities, and you'll be expected to champion these standards by following Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) policies and procedures.

What you need to know
- Hourly rate: AW2 ($40.36) or AW3 ($42.60) per hour plus Superannuation, based on experience.
- Roster: shift Work via a Day/Evening rotation, requiring flexibility in working hours and locations.
- Initial travel for training in Nowra, NSW, may also be necessary.
- Allowances provided as necessary, including Per Diems for travel-related expenses.
- Parking and canteen facilities available onsite.
- Relocation assistance available for the right applicant.
The skills needed for success include
- Commitment to a safe work environment and adherence to Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) regulations.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with co-workers.
- Proven initiative and effective task prioritization under tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Previous experience in working with Rotary Wing Aircraft or a background in mechanical trades is desirable.
- Proficiency in aircraft handling and refuelling is desirable.
Necessary requirements
- C class driver's license.
- Australian Citizenship, with the ability to obtain and maintain an NV1 AGSVA clearance
- Certificate II in Aeroskills or the ability to obtain (desirable).
Security Clearance
You will be required to successfully undergo the vetting process for a government security clearance (Negative Vetting 1) sponsored by BDA. Therefore, you must be willing to disclose all relevant and required information and must have the ability to verify your background for whole of life i.e. birth to present time.
