The role

We are seeking a Casual Support Worker to join our team at New Way Agencies in Townsville, QLD. As a Casual Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate and personalised care to people with disabilities, helping them maintain their independence and quality of life.

Key responsibilities

Assisting clients with daily living activities such as personal care, showering, dressing, meal preparation, Feeding, medication and light housekeeping

Providing companionship and engaging clients in social, recreational, and therapeutic activities

Monitoring clients' wellbeing and reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate personnel

Adhering to all safety protocols and ensuring a safe environment for both clients and yourself

Maintaining accurate and up-to-date client records and documentation

What we're looking for

A caring and empathetic nature with a genuine passion for supporting people with disabilities

Relevant experience in the aged care or disability support sector, or a strong desire to make a difference in people's lives

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients

A keen eye for detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team

A current First Aid and CPR certificate's

A valid driver's license and full compressive Insurance

Current and Positive NDIS Workers Screening and Working With Children's Card's

Certification in the following desirable but not essential -

Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy (PEG)

Safe Swallowing

Manuel Handling

Medication Administration

Ventilator Usage and Care

Certificate III or IV in individual support or wiliness to obtain
