Exciting Job Opportunity as an Area Manager at Kelly Sports in Victoria's North-Western Region

Kelly Sports is seeking a passionate, experienced, and dedicate Area Manager to join their team on a full-time basis. This position involves organizing and delivering multiple sports programs in primary schools, child care centres, and kindergartens across the North-Western Region, including; Essendon, Footscray, Sydenham, Caroline Springs, Deer Park, Bacchus Marsh, Greenvale, Craigieburn, Lalor, Bundoora, Mill Park and Plenty Valley.

The area manager would be working from our Kelly Sports offices in Brunswick West (Melville Road).

In addition to these programs, you will be responsible for the organisation & facilitation of school holiday sports programs, sports birthday parties and corporate events. Our professional programs provide children aged 3 to 12 with fun sports activities that teach sport-specific skills and develop Fundamental Motor Skills in a welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment.

Furthermore, extensive administration duties will include; managing all coaches & staff delivering sessions across our North-Western Region, managing positive relationships with our key stakeholders, recruitment & growth of programs and events within our zones, marketing & advertising of Kelly Sports programs & events, implementing key policies & procedures for coaches to follow, maintaining our websites & databases, recruiting & training new coaches to high standards, consistently improving & developing current coaches, as well as awareness around Child Safety protocols and other business areas.

The ideal candidate should be a high-quality sports coach who is enthusiastic, outgoing, sports-minded, professional, and passionate about working with children of all ages. They must possess the ability to coach groups with an emphasis on fun, enjoyment, maximum participation, group control, and skill development. Strong, effective leadership skills are essential to manage and motivate a core group of coaches, set clear expectations, provide guidance, and foster a positive work environment.

Skills & Attributes:

Ability to teach / coach children of all ages (especially 2-12 yrs of age)

Enjoy working with children of all ages

Passionate and committed

Punctual and extremely reliable

High level interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to coordinate & manage a team of sports coaches effectively & efficiently

Proven experience in managing and coordinating sports programs or similar roles, particularly with children

Ability to prioritise tasks, manage time effectively, and multitask in a fast-paced environment

Local knowledge of the Northern and Western Suburbs of Melbourne

Comfort and experience with IT, including Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Gmail, Meet etc).

Strong & friendly interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with parents, coaches, staff, and stakeholders

Problem-solving skills to address any challenges or issues that may arise during coaching sessions & day-to-day operations

Understanding of safety regulations and health guidelines related to children's sports activities

Key Requirements:

Must have a valid Driver's Licence and their own car

Working With Children's Check - Employee

CPR & First Aid in an Education & Care Setting (HLTAID012)

Ideally must live in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne

Extensive experience in Sports Coaching

Extensive experience working with children aged 3 - 12 years of age

Additional experience in other forms of physical activity (Dance, Gymnastics etc) would be extremely beneficial

Desirable:

Tertiary qualifications in Sports Coaching, Sports Management &/or Teaching

This position is a full-time, ongoing position (38 hours a week) with a salary that will be in the range of $65,000 - $75,000 PA (plus Super) to be negotiated based on the level of experience and qualifications the successful applicant possesses.
