Senior Technical Business Analyst – Energy & Utilities

Salary: $160 - $180k Package
Duration: 12 Months Fixed Term
Location: Melbourne CBD

Key ResponsibilitiesData Migration, Integration & Management

• Support migration from legacy systems to modern SaaS platforms, ensuring data integrity.
• Document data flows, dependencies, and integration points across enterprise systems.
• Collaborate on the design of ETL pipelines and assist in post-migration validation and testing.
• Ensure effective data cleansing, mapping, and reconciliation to support seamless transitions.
• Contribute to data governance, standards, and best practice frameworks.

Technical Analysis & Security

• Write clear, functional specifications for SAP systems (IS-U, FI/CO, MM, PM, CRM).
• Work closely with developers and integration teams to design and test workflows, reports, and enhancements.
• Apply technical understanding of relational databases (SQL), on-prem infrastructure, and integration layers.
• Identify process gaps and propose improvements based on business and technical insights.
• Ensure access control and security measures align with compliance and organisational policies.

Stakeholder Engagement & Business Process Analysis

• Facilitate workshops and gather business requirements from stakeholders at all levels.
• Use business process modelling tools (e.g., BPMN, UML) to define and optimise workflows.
• Develop user stories, process maps, and system documentation.
• Support UAT and ensure solutions align with both business objectives and technical feasibility.
• Prepare clear, concise reports, presentations, and dashboards for decision-making.

What You’ll Bring

• Tertiary qualifications in Business, IT, or a related field.
• 5+ years’ experience in a Technical or Senior Business Analyst role in complex enterprise environments.
• Deep knowledge of data integration, migration, ETL, and validation.
• Previous experience in the energy, utilities, or infrastructure sectors is highly desirable.
• Proficiency with SAP (especially IS-U) and SQL-based systems.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills—able to bridge the gap between business and tech.
• Strong documentation and presentation skills, including PowerPoint and executive-ready reporting.
• Experience across both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
• Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, MS Teams, and Power BI.
