New Senior Payroll Officer, working for a large national organization operating within the defence industry.

This exciting new Senior Payroll Officer opportunity will focus on the end to end payroll processing of across a range of agencies. You will work closely with the Payroll Manager and support the wider payroll team,

This is a full time permanent role based in Fyshwick, ACT. This position requires candidates to work from the office full time and there is on-site parking available.

Salary on offer is between $110,000 - $120,000 + super (14% super)

Please note that candidates are required to be Australian citizens and eligible for defence security clearance.

Job responsibilities:

• Prepare and process end-to-end payroll on a fortnightly & monthly basis across multiple business units.
• Prepare and reconcile superannuation, PAYG, payroll tax and work cover levies.
• First point of contact for any payroll queries and resolves any issues in a timely manner.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry awards.
• Review payroll journals and reconciliations as well as prepare and lodge payroll tax, super and work cover reports.
• Processing salary sacrifice arrangements in respect to payroll.
• Assist in preparing the group life salary continuance insurance annual return and monitor claims.
• Work closely with the wider payroll time and assist with any payroll related projects when required.

Candidate skills & experience

• Prior experience working in a senior payroll capacity will be beneficial e.g. 5+ years of end to end payroll processing.
• Ability to interpret EBA's & awards and must stay abreast of any changes. Experience process payroll for shift workers would be a benefit.
• Experience with the Pronto system would be beneficial but not essential.
• Work collaboratively within a team environment.
