2025/26 Vacation Student Program – Urban Planning

Voted as one of the top intern programs in Australia since 2018 by students (AAGE), the Public Transport Authority’s (PTA) Vacation Student Program provides opportunities for current university students to work alongside experienced and skilled transport planners who will assist them in developing an understanding of the PTA’s business and enable them to apply their skills in a practical setting.

The PTA stands as a leader in delivering world-class public transport services and solutions. The rapid expansion of Western Australia's economy has driven the demand for efficient public transport services across the region, resulting in the establishment of Australia's premier public transport network and one of the world's most efficient, safe, and eco-friendly systems.

About the role:

The PTA presents an exciting opportunity for students who are currently studying a Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning (or equivalent) to join our Vacation Student Program. The twelve-week program will run from Monday 24 November 2025 to Friday 13 February 2026. You will be assigned a workplace supervisor and will complete meaningful work during your placement enabling you to make an active contribution to the PTA. You will also be part of a networking group which connects you with our current / previous PTA Graduates.

The PTA also offers a friendly and professional working environment and a range of benefits. For more information on the PTA please visit our website at: www.pta.wa.gov.au
