About Legacy WA

Legacy WA supports over 2,500 individuals from families touched by a loved one’s service to our country. We provide essential services including financial support, counselling referrals, education assistance, and social connection programs. Our mission is to ensure that no family suffers after the loss or injury of a veteran. We do this with the support of passionate volunteers, team members, and partners who share our values of service, compassion, and community.

About the Role

The Camps Program Coordinator plays a vital role in planning, managing, and delivering impactful camp experiences that strengthen the connection between Legacy WA and the families we serve.

This role offers the opportunity to not only deliver safe and memorable camps for children and families but also to grow our engagement offerings — creating inclusive, values-aligned activities that attract new participants and provide ongoing support.

Based in West Perth, with regular travel to our Busselton camp facility, this hands-on role requires a balance of strategic planning, people coordination, and operational execution.

Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Coordination

Lead the full lifecycle of camp programs from planning and promotion to delivery and post-program review.

Design and implement other inclusive programs that reflect the needs of veteran families and the broader Legacy community.

Deliver on-the-ground leadership during camps, ensuring safety, wellbeing, and engagement of all participants.

Operations & Risk Management

Develop and maintain camp program policies, procedures, and risk management plans.

Ensure compliance with child safety standards and duty-of-care obligations.

Coordinate logistics, including equipment, transport, and site readiness.

Stakeholder Engagement

Build strong relationships with participants, families, volunteers, facilitators, and Legacy WA staff.

Lead onboarding and training for volunteers, facilitators, and other camp stakeholders.

Represent Legacy WA at community events or partner briefings related to camps and other programs.

Promotion & Growth

Manage all communications and enrolments related to programs.

Promote camp and other programs through strategic outreach and community engagement.

Co-design new initiatives that encourage greater participation and feed into the camp program pipeline.

Funding & Reporting

Contribute to grant applications, funding submissions, and outcome reporting.

Manage program budgets and provide timely reports to leadership and funders.

Key Selection Criteria

We’re looking for a dynamic individual who thrives in a people-first environment and is confident leading programs that make a real difference.
