You will lead and manage the Planning Services team to deliver high-quality statutory planning outcomes. This role is pivotal in ensuring lawful, accurate and accountable decision-making across development applications and strategic planning matters.
What You’ll Do
- Lead a team of planning officers and planning administrators
- Oversee statutory planning assessments
- Provide advice to Council and external agencies
- Prepare agenda items and statutory decisions
- Represent the City at planning-related meetings
- Oversee reporting and operational matters
- Support recruitment and business planning
- Act as Manager Development Services when required
About You
We’re looking for a qualified and experienced Planning Services Lead who is passionate about creating strong teams and facilitating good outcomes for the community. You’ll ideally bring a:
- Degree in Urban & Regional Planning
- Deep knowledge of the WA planning system
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills
- Clear, confident and approachable communication style
- Experience in budget and people management
- Sound judgement and decision-making
- Local Government know-how
