You will lead and manage the Planning Services team to deliver high-quality statutory planning outcomes. This role is pivotal in ensuring lawful, accurate and accountable decision-making across development applications and strategic planning matters.

What You’ll Do

• Lead a team of planning officers and planning administrators
• Oversee statutory planning assessments
• Provide advice to Council and external agencies
• Prepare agenda items and statutory decisions
• Represent the City at planning-related meetings
• Oversee reporting and operational matters
• Support recruitment and business planning
• Act as Manager Development Services when required

About You

We’re looking for a qualified and experienced Planning Services Lead who is passionate about creating strong teams and facilitating good outcomes for the community. You’ll ideally bring a:

• Degree in Urban & Regional Planning
• Deep knowledge of the WA planning system
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills
• Clear, confident and approachable communication style
• Experience in budget and people management
• Sound judgement and decision-making
• Local Government know-how
