The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 717,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need. The NDIA is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and will mean a peace of mind for every Australian.
A new role awaits
The Technology Services Division has an EL1 vacancy within the Agency ICT Services Branch.
The Agency ICT Services Branch supports all ICT systems and infrastructure including the primary business applications such as SAP CRM and Salesforce CRM.
The Corporate Applications Directorate is a brilliant team to work in. We play a critical role in the Agencies success, ensuring that several platforms and apps are maintained and secure. Our responsibilities span enterprise grade contact centre solutions, ITSM tooling, SMS products, Board Paper Management apps, Form and survey capabilities and much more. Where you can add value
As the Solution Architect your duties will include:
• Interact with the different business areas to understand their needs and design appropriate solutions.
• Facilitation and support for Agency ICT Community of Practice (CoP)
• Understand different constraints and use architectural patterns to mitigate technical risks.
• Investigating, implementation and the supporting integrations between both internal and external applications and services
• Technically lead/mentor other team members regarding the best practices and approach.
• Working with Enterprise Architects to develop/maintain technical roadmap to improve/grow ensure maximum value.
• Collaborate with the team members such as program managers, business analysts and technical teams to ensure alignment of work.
• Review and provide inputs towards improvements of artefacts and documents created by other team members or functions
• Contribute to Special Interest Groups (SIGs), add to the knowledge base and the agency’s technical library of information.

Hard Skills:
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in enterprise service management or a related field.
• Strong experience in creating cloud-based solutions (AWS and Azure), including deployment and monitoring.
• Prior experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, specifically Terraform
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines using Git (Gitlab).
• Experience designing enterprise applications SaaS, on-prem or custom platforms
• Familiarity with SDLC methodologies, especially Agile.
• Strong understanding of the application lifecycle management.
• Prior experience in integration of enterprise applications. Familiarity with connectors and APIs
• Detailed understanding of Cybersecurity, Data privacy and confidentiality standards and considerations
• Awareness of accessibility and user centric design principles.
• Ability to analyse complex business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
• Broad experience in different ICT disciplines.
• Experience working in a structured enterprise environment within ICT management frameworks. • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• TOGAF, ITIL and Terraform certifications would be an advantage.
• Understanding of standard notations for documentation such as UML, C4, BPMN etc and appropriate metrics for measurements
Soft Skills:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strategic as well Tactical thinking, have a systems approach and think in terms of future state.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
• Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced environment
• Proactive approach to risk management

While this role is ideally performed from Melbourne - VIC, Brisbane - QLD and NSW - Surry Hills, remote working arrangements may be considered. We intend to fill this role in an ongoing capacity, however non-ongoing roles up to 12 months with the possibility of extension up to 2 years may be offered.
Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, Worker Screening check and/or Working with Children Check (where required) and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.
