
Senior Director, Service Assurance

Lead the Service Assurance team through the effective planning, development and operation of consistent methodologies, capabilities, standards and governance and ensure they are applied in a manner that supports the provision of quality ICT services to the ACT Government.
What You Will Do:
- Provide strategic oversight of the whole of life-cycle management of the ICT assets fleet and develop, implement and manage appropriate policies and procedures including defining and agreeing on the service assets that will be treated as configuration items.
- Successfully lead the Service Assurance team through the provision of strategic leadership and effective and efficient management of services which facilitate agile outcomes for our clients.
- Successfully lead the Service Desk Team in the provision of first and second level ICT support, including service desk, on-site, roaming, service point, Access Control, management functionality and 24/7 after hours support.
- Provide leadership in significantly improving the life-cycle management of ICT assets, including re-design and implementation of sound, agile and effective ICT change management processes and workflows.
- Ensure reliable, accurate and timely information is maintained in regards to configuration management.
- Manage and control the cost centre budgets in accordance with the Financial Management Act 1996 and Chief Executive Financial Instructions including Financial Delegations being exercised appropriately.
- Effectively manage resources in accordance with the ACT Government’s policies and delegations.
- Represent the team and DDTS at internal and external forums and committees as required.
Eligibility/Other Requirements:
Professional / Technical Skills and Knowledge
- Demonstrated recent experience in managing a disparate team of ICT professionals, preferably with direct experience with IT Service Management (including service desk), Asset lifecycle management, Governance and processes.
- Demonstrated experience managing financial and human resources in a challenging fiscal environment.
- Proven capacity and in-depth experience in leading procurement for complex ICT environment, developing business cases, synthesising complex issues and demonstrating business value.
- Demonstrated understanding of contemporary ICT service management directions and strategies.

- Proven highly developed effective written and verbal communication, interpersonal and networking skills including demonstrated experience in high-level consultation, networking, negotiation, and influence.
- Demonstrated ability to consistently display commitment to high quality customer service principles and practices.
- Understanding of public service values covering ethical standards and a demonstrated self-awareness, professionalism and a proven commitment to Respect, Equity and Diversity in the workplace and health and safety principles and practices.
Compliance Requirements / Qualifications
- A current ACT Government CMTEDD issued Personnel Vetting Program certificate (Baseline clearance equivalent) is required for this position, or the ability to obtain and maintain one.
- Driver’s license class C is essential.
This position does not require a Working with Vulnerable People Check. This position does involve direct supervision of personnel
Note: This is a temporary position available for a period of six months with the possibility of extension up to 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
Flexible Working/Hybrid Options: Opportunities for flexible working options could include hybrid working, being a combination of working from home, designated office based and FlexiSpace working locations across the ACT.
