About the Business Unit:
People, Safety, Culture and Communications' (PSCCs) core functions span the breadth of workplace cultural and people matters, including human resource policy and strategy; organisational culture and change; recruitment, redeployment, and retention; performance and development; pay, benefits and workforce reporting; occupational health and safety management; and employment regulations.
About the Role:
An opportunity exists for an experienced Safety Manager to provide high-level safety advice and support, influence the development of strategic safety initiatives, and champion the safety agenda within a complex operating environment, whilst mentoring and developing staff to build their safety capabilities.
Some of your duties will include:
- Providing leadership and direction toward the delivery of strategic safety and wellbeing initiatives working collaboratively with key partners to ensure a consistent departmental approach
- Working collaboratively to identify process and performance gaps while influencing senior executives and stakeholders in developing, promoting, implementing, and reviewing strategic initiatives that deliver a safety-first culture across the department to improve the overall safety performance of the site
- Demonstrating visible safety leadership by providing coaching and mentoring for the site's executive leadership group, frontline leaders, and staff in the resolution of complex operational problem ssuch as occupational violence, manual handling, slip/trip and falls incidents that are impacting on the safety and wellbeing performance of the site.

About You:
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
- Comprehensive knowledge, understanding and experience in the application of OHS legislation, compliance codes, codes of practice and regulations and the Dangerous Goods and Hazardous Substances legislation and regulations
- Relevant significant industry experience in occupational health and safety management systems
- A wealth of experience in the identification of OHS risks and developing, implementing and evaluating preventative strategies.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Suitably qualified person with a minimum of diploma in occupational/workplace health and safety.
- A full and current driver's license is required due to the need to work across different locations.
