About Us
Curve Build is a reputable Melbourne builder delivering standout architectural residential and commercial construction projects across Melbourne and throughout Victoria.
Our team is:
• Detail-focused
• Client-first
• Proud of our work
• Driven by a bias toward craftsmanship
We’re growing and looking to add a motivated Estimator to our Clifton Hill team. This is a full-time role based in the office or on site, depending on project needs.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Managing Directors, you’ll be responsible for delivering clear, competitive, and accurate costings across a range of residential and commercial builds.
You’ll work closely with the delivery team to ensure that cost planning is sharp, documentation is clean, and every project is commercially sound from day one. There’s also a clear growth pathway — including the opportunity to move into Contract Administration or other commercial roles over time.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare detailed and accurate bills of quantities and cost breakdowns
• Perform material and labour take-offs from architectural and engineering drawings
• Issue purchase orders and create trade packages for tendering
• Source and analyse trade and supplier quotes
• Participate in cost plan reviews and support value management
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting
• Maintain accurate documentation and version control
• Liaise with project managers, designers, and subcontractors to ensure alignment of scope and pricing
• Support projects through their entire lifecycle
About You
You’re practical, sharp, and highly accountable, someone who doesn’t need micromanaging. You bring structure to your work, communicate clearly, and genuinely care about getting things right.
You’re the type of person who thrives in a high-standards environment and enjoys working with a team that values doing the job properly.
What You’ll Bring
• 2+ years of experience in residential or commercial estimating
• Qualifications in Building and Construction, Quantity Surveying, or a relevant trade background
• Strong stakeholder management skills — you can collaborate with PMs, consultants, subcontractors, and clients
• Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• High level of attention to detail and an organised, structured mindset
• Proficiency with estimating software (e.g. Buildxact, CostX, or similar)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of your work
• A demonstrated ability or willingness to use AI tools to improve the speed, accuracy, or structure of the estimating process
Perks and Benefits
• Clear growth path including potential progression into Contracts Admin or broader commercial roles
• Supportive, high-performance team culture with a focus on quality
• Involvement in some of Melbourne’s most considered architectural and commercial builds
• Ongoing mentorship and development from senior leadership
• Team dinners, casual catch-ups, bringing some social fun into the frame
• Clifton Hill office close to cafes, public transport, and bike paths
If you want to grow your skills, be part of a great team, and work on projects you’re genuinely proud to show off we’d love to hear from you.
