About the role

Are you interested in kick starting a career in Business Administration?

Penrith City Council is looking to employ a committed, enthusiastic and passionate individual to undertake a 12-month traineeship in Business Administration in Council’s Executive Services team. The team is made up of dedicated and experienced administration professionals who support the Mayor, elected Councillors and senior leaders at Council.

This is a great opportunity to gain insights into the inner workings of local government – understanding how services are delivered and decisions are made, while remaining professional and apolitical. This traineeship offers dynamic hands-on experience, invaluable mentorship, and a supportive environment to help you succeed. We are seeking applicants who are committed to completing the full duration of the traineeship.

This role would suit a school leaver, someone with a strong interest in the community, or an individual considering a career change. You could be the right person for this role if you have a positive attitude, a willingness to learn and support others, along with a strong customer focus and attention to detail.

As a Business Administration Trainee you will complete a Certificate III in Business, whilst gaining valuable information and industry experience in a supportive environment. The traineeship will commence in late 2025.

Business Administration Trainees undertake a range of functions to make sure the administration activities within our organisation run smoothly and effectively.
