The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity is available for an Executive Assistant to join the Office of the Chief Operating Officer and Chief of People, Planning and Governance team at Burnet!
In this role, you will play a key part in supporting two senior Executives with dynamic and wide-ranging portfolios. This position is critical in helping the Executives lead effectively and deliver on strategic initiatives across diverse operational and corporate functions. You will provide high-level administrative, communication and planning support while also contributing to strategic projects such as the establishment of the Australian Institute of Infectious Diseases and Burnet's People Strategy.
You will also:
- Manage complex calendars and communications to help prioritise Executive and team goals
- Coordinate meetings, travel, agendas, reports and correspondence
- Provide administrative support across finance, planning, legal, governance, people, IT, data strategy, risk and more
- Track budgets, manage reconciliations, and support project coordination and reporting
- Act as a key liaison with internal and external stakeholders, while fostering a high-performing and collaborative team culture

The following criteria are essential requirements:
- Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
- Proactive and responsive with strong initiative and attention to detail
- Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint)
- High level of discretion, integrity and ability to handle confidential information
- A collaborative team approach and a commitment to continuous improvement
The following are desirable but not essential:
- A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent administrative certification
