Full time Chef required for the Alfies café bar, Waurn Ponds VIC 3216

We are currently seeking a qualified full-time cook to join our team in Waurn Ponds. We are looking for someone who is creative, organised, and passionate.

The job description for cook is as follows and it is not an exhaustive list:

Plan menus and estimate food and labour costs.

Prepare and cook a variety of menu items to high standards.

Supervise and train apprentices and junior kitchen staff.

Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations and explain these to others when necessary.

Monitor the quality of dishes throughout preparation and presentation.

Delegate tasks effectively to other team members.

Monitor food stock levels and assist in placing orders as required.

Requirements:

Certificate III or higher in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification).

Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a commercial kitchen.

Flexible availability, including weekends and public holidays.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Solid understanding of OH&S practices and food safety regulations.
