Hands on Manager | WHS & Assets Manager | Toowoomba
Employment Term: Permanent Full Time, Flexible Hours
Location: Toowoomba, QLD
Remuneration: $110k + Super + NFP salary packaging of up to $15,900 & $2,650 for meals & entertainment (equivalent of up to an extra $6k net salary)

The Role
We’re seeking an experienced and strategic WHS & Assets Manager who will lead and take on a hands on approach to our Work Health and Safety (WHS) and asset management functions across all sites—from offices and retail stores to our distribution centre. You’ll drive the implementation of our WHS systems, foster a culture of proactive risk management, and ensure the safety, compliance, and upkeep of facilities across a diverse geographical region.
This newly established, standalone role comes without direct reports. You will lead the strategic direction of our WHS culture while also being hands-on in its day-to-day execution
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the organisation’s WHS risk management and compliance framework
- Develop and promote safety policies and psychosocial risk controls
- Deliver WHS training and maintain consistent communication across sites
- Investigate incidents and support injury management/return-to-work programs
- Monitor contractor compliance and conduct WHS audits
- Oversee emergency preparedness and first aid capabilities
- Maintain facility safety, asset compliance, and contractor performance
- Prepare property budgets, manage service contracts, and conduct inspections
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Cert IV in WHS (or equivalent)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar multi-site role
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and practices in Australia
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
- Demonstrated organisational ability and attention to detail
- Experience in asset/facilities management
Desirable:
- QLD “C” class driver’s licence
- Background in return-to-work coordination and injury rehabilitation
- Basic knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing)
