*This role is based in Uluru*

Join us on an Epic Adventure,

Imagine standing at the foot of Uluṟu as the sun rises. A group of eager explorers gather, and you’re at the helm, orchestrating memorable journeys through these iconic Australian wildernesses. It’s an opportunity to create an unforgettable experience in the great outdoors!

At the Tasmanian Walking Company, we focus on creating experiences that connect our guests to the beauty and rich cultural tapestry of Australia. With over three decades of eco-tourism excellence under our belts, we are thrilled to continue our journey with the breathtaking walk at Uluṟu.

Why Join us?

If you’re looking for a hands-on role with a leadership component, you’re in the right place!

This is a unique opportunity to work with Indigenous communities, sharing their stories and traditions while leading guests on walks through these landscapes. You will lead in a role that not only enhances the guest experience but also contributes to environmental conservation and community engagement.

We are looking for a full time Operations Coordinator for our Uluṟu Kata Tjuta Signature Walk (based in Yulara).

Here's what you’ll be doing:

  • Lead a team of guides, lodge hosts, and drivers, ensuring they are prepared and equipped for each trip
  • Oversee logistics such as trip documentation, reporting, provisioning (including food ordering and stock management), asset upkeep (excellent condition and ready for use) and address maintenance issues by following established systems
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards, environmental policies and operational procedures
  • Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and training for your team, including managing the induction process for new team members
  • Act as the checking balance in the guest experience by collecting and reviewing feedback
  • Complete one guiding week every 6 to 8 weeks to stay grounded in the product and contribute to its ongoing development
  • Work closely with Traditional Owners to integrate cultural elements into the guest experience
  • Build strong relationships with local communities, including Traditional Owners, Parks Australia staff and residents

What you will bring:

  • The Uluṟu-Kata Tjuta Knowledge for Tour Guides (VTP489) is mandatory and must be completed prior to starting the role
  • Previous experience in tour operations, travel coordination, or a similar role
  • Those with a travel/tourism background will be highly regarded
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities
  • Relevant qualifications, including at least some of the following Manual Driver Licence, Wilderness First Aid (SISSS00126), CPR (HLTAID009), Responsible Service of Alcohol (SITHFAB021), Use Hygienic Practices for Food Safety (SITXFSA005) and Participate in Safe Food Handling Practices (SITXFS006). While candidates may not have all qualifications at the time of application, a willingness to obtain them is essential.

What’s in it for you?

  • Accommodation provided
  • Access to company vehicle
  • Exclusive pro-deals program for access to discounted adventure gear.
  • Opportunities to experience and guide across our other walks.
  • Family & friend discounts across our walking products.
  • Additional available support for Traditional Owner applicants, including adaptability to accommodate cultural requirements
