The City of Mandurah is looking for a Senior Environmental Health Officer to join the Health Services team to provide leadership and support to help achieve positive public health outcomes in community.
Do you enjoy working directly with people, providing education, advice, leadership, support and outstanding customer service? The Health Services team is focused on balancing education, compliance and enforcement to contribute to the health and wellbeing of the community. This role provides a great opportunity for a Senior Environmental Health Officer to take on a diverse role in a highly successful team working towards our team mission of: “Preserving the environment, protecting the community and providing for a healthy tomorrow.”
What will you bring to the team?
- Bachelor of Science (Environmental Health) degree or qualifications acceptable for Public Health Act 2016 authorisation
- Thorough knowledge of all legislation, associated regulations and policies relevant to environmental health.
- An ability to interpret and apply legislation in a practical and effective manner to achieve positive community outcomes.
- An ability to supervise and lead a team to achieve positive environmental health outcomes
- An ability to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities
- A passion for environmental health and a desire to contribute to the health and wellbeing of our community
- Exceptional customer service skills and an ability to negotiate positive outcomes that benefit our community
- An ability to work effectively across multiple teams in the City as ‘one team’.
- Sound technical knowledge related to inspection, education and enforcement processes
The finer details
This full-time Level 7 position attracts a pro-rata salary range of $108,804 - $115,610 gross per annum dependent on qualifications and experience and includes Restricted Private Use of a Council Vehicle.
