Protech is seeking a Senior Environmental Officer for our client who is a growing gold producer listed on the ASX. Our client operates both established and emerging assets at their Gold Project down south in WA. This role will be on a FIFO basis - 8:6 roster.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

• Start Date (TBD)
• Full-Time / Permanent position
• 12-hour days / FIFO 8:6 from Perth
• Site and Travel Allowance
• Bonus scheme

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintainin compliance with environmental regulations and licensing through timely reporting, undertaking regular environmental sampling, maintaining environmental databases, promoting environmental excellence through audits, inspections, training, and awareness.
• Through analysis and interpretation of this data, the Environmental Officer provides environmental support to Environment and Approvals Manager, processing, exploration, and mining.
• Duties also include environmental field sampling, audits, inspections, waste management, environmental awareness and report writing.
• At all times fostering, practicing, and following Company Safety, Health and Environment Standards, Policies and Procedures.
• Require active participation and compliance to the principles of the organisations integrated Safety Management System, Environmental Management System and Risk Management System.
• Set tangible and measurable safety objectives
• Take personal responsibility for the safety of self and others.
  

TICKETS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Bachelor of Environmental Science or equivalent (Diploma)
• Extensive experience in environmental management, ideally in the mining industry sectors.
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and standards, with experience managing environmental risk registers, permits, and external reporting.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide a team, fostering a high-performance and collaborative environment.
• A basic understanding of mine planning and scheduling.
• Computer literacy with Microsoft Software, MS Excel, MS Word and GIS software.
• Senior First Aid (Desired)
